The regular season has come to a close. As of now, we don’t know for sure if Tech will go to a bowl game, but in this post, I’m going to assume that we are.
So as of this post, I am not declaring Daniel Adams the winner of the contest. But it’s (probably) just a matter of time. #TeamNotDaniel, you have failed us once again.
This week’s contest saw a season-low 17 participants (Thanks, Thanksgiving) who scored an average of 8.2 points. The week’s HUGE winner was Jess, who put up an amazing 19 points. The next best was 12. Congrats, Jess!
The leaderboard, as previously alluded to, is as follows: Daniel Adams (136); Evan S/Lucky Lew (122); Mike the Spike (118); and sethbot (115). Theoretically Evan and/or Lucky Lew could catch up in a Bowl game contest, but it seems highly unlikely.
Taylor Young is still leading the best average category, 11.5 to 11.333 (Daniel Adams).

Results: 15 of 17 respondents got it right.
Question 2: How many points will Tech win by?
Answer: 14
Results: While 15 of us picked Tech to win, most of us were not quite this optimistic about it. Only one person, TDAWG, picked Tech by double digits. He picked Tech by 10 and scored 3 points.
Question 3: Which team will run the 12th play of the second half?
Answer: Tech
Results: 65% of respondents got this correct
Question 4: How many total passing yards will both teams gain?
Answer: 192 yards
Results: Only one person predicted such an anemic passing game from both teams. Jess was the only person to score on this one, and she got 4 points!
Question 5: How many total punt yards will occur in the game?
Answer: 271 yards
Results: Five players picked up some points here, but Jess was the best (again) with 4 points!
Question 6: Which of the following will be true?
Answer: Teddy Veal will beat his season average for receiving yards (FALSE); UTSA will sack J’Mar at least twice (TRUE); There will be some sort of missed PAT opportunity (FALSE).
Results: Everyone picked up at least one point, but Daniel Adams was the only person to get all three right.
Bonus: Each letter of the alphabet is assigned a numerical value based on its position in the alphabet (a=1, b=2, x=24, etc). If you add up all of the numerical values of the last name of every Tech player to score (each name can only be counted once), is the resulting number higher or lower than UTSA’s total number of yards in the game?
Answer: Higher (Tech players: Smith, Scott, Barnes=206; UTSA yards: 201)
Results: 53% got this one right! It was very close, as these results reflect.
